Blog 16: track 3 analysis

[Script in bold]

ACT 3 – Scene 1

EXT. ALIEN LANDSCAPE – TWILIGHT

A battered escape craft crash-lands on a jagged alien planet. Survivors stumble out—injured, tired, lost.

The terrain is unforgiving—craggy cliffs, relentless storms. They march through thunder and ash. Morale fades.

Suddenly, a monstrous shadow appears—an alien beast, towering and feral. The group braces for a final stand.

But the beast does not attack. It circles, then slowly turns. A soft light pulses from its chest. It walks away, pausing—waiting.

The survivors follow.

in this blog I will be describing my compositional process. The keyword in this script is alien landscape and twilight, it gives me the feeling that this track needs to be a bridge between the track before and after it

the next keyword is relentless storms, I wanted to design some thunder sounds using serum.  “suddenly a monstrous shadow appears an alien beast” to compose this part i used a bass sound that has alot of rumble almost sounding like it is alive

“But the beast does not attack. It circles, then slowly turns. A soft light pulses from its chest. It walks away, pausing—waiting.” for this part I cut the bass, and insert a feedback sound that acts as the “light”

and for “survivors follow” I wanted to do something that would indicate the project is moving in a different direction, so I used an LFO that modulates from slow to fast.

I feel the use of this effect successful signifies something otherworldly.
