Blog 18: track 5 analysis
[Script in bold]
ACT 4 – Scene 1
EXT. HOME – NIGHT
The survivors emerge—on familiar soil. A warm breeze brushes their faces.
They look around. Home. But something is missing.
INT. MEMORIAL HALL – LATER
Rows of names etched in stone. Candles flicker. Faces are missing from the group. Friends gone. Tears are held back. A single hand reaches out, touching a name.
EXT. HILLTOP – SUNRISE
The remaining fighters sit silently, overlooking the land they once defended. Grief sits beside gratitude.
One of them smiles faintly, eyes on the sunrise.
in this blog i will be describing my compositional process.
This track is the final track of the project. According to the script i wanted to create a mood which is reminiscent of grief and gratefulness as this is the track that is supposed to represent the feeling of meeting your loved ones after a war but being sad about not having the loved ones that perished in the war.
For this track I decided to lean on more of what feeling the script gave me instead of trying to compose to a keyword as the script for this que is very specific and i needed to dilute the specificity a little bit.
from a technical point of view this track uses a clunky sounding arpeggio as the main element and the track has multiple crescendos. After I finished composing the track I felt like I was not getting the feeling of reflection
I realised I could reverse the whole track before the main crescendo and use that as my ending, this worked great as it kind of felt like a recap of the track but also made the track more cohesive.
